At Tyres and More we're proud of the people who make up our
national team. Many of our franchisee's work closely with and for
their community, interacting with local charities and
organisationed community functions to raise funds and awareness for
local projects and community members in need.
Tyres and More Tumbi Umbi and
it's owner Steve Corney is one of our franchise stores who deserves
recognition for their efforts.

A great supporter of NETS and in particular the 4WD4KIDS bash,
Steve recently enticed Jeff Johnson, or "Jeff the Walker"
previously known for his walk from Gulf to Gulf in 2007, to help
him out on a special project. The aim - to get involved with
NETS, the Newborn and Paediatric
Emergency Transport
Service and raise funds for this vital community
service. The result, Jeff's Walk 2 - a 162
days trek from Cape Byron, the most easterly point of the continent
to Steep Point, the most westerly point in WA.
To walk close to 5000 kms is a feat for anyone, but for a man,
born in 1941, the commitment and passion for kids that drove him to
reach his destination was nothing short of amazing. With
Steve providing the support vehicle, Jeff and a dedicated support
team walked an amazing 4971 kms point to point, meeting with
locals, walking with celebrities such as John Paul Young and
raising money towards his target donation for NETS of $80,000.

On Sunday October 2nd, Jeff completed his amazing walk raising
almost $65,000, however he and NETS still need assistance to reach
their original target.
