4x4 Suspension

EFS Suspension are Tyres & More's four wheel drive suspension experts, parts suppliers and good mates. The Tyres & More stores that do mechanical work can fit EFS shock absorber upgrades and 4WD lift kits. Some are certified to perform GVM upgrades. Check with your local store.

EFS 4x4 Accessories

EFS are an Australian-owned and family operated business who have been manufacturing 4WD suspension since 1962. EFS are known for their range of suspension upgrades, and more recently their comprehensive range of 4x4 accessories like winches, awnings, air compressors and more.

EFS Suspension Kits

EFS 4x4 suspension kits include springs, shocks and components which are tailored to your vehicle. The EFS suspension range includes a number of upgrades to achieve performance and durability beyond that of standard four wheel drive suspension systems.

Springs are tailored to the weight of your car and the desired suspension height. For example, if the front of your four wheel drive is weighed down by a heavy bull bar you'll most likely need heavier front springs to achieve a two inch lift.

EFS supplies all the suspension components for lift kits and GVM upgrades. The most important factor is the choice of shock absorber.

EFS Shock Absorber Range

  • Enforcer Shock Absorbers – A general purpose, entry-level shock absorber which features a 32mm piston.
  • Elite Shock Absorbers – A grade above original equipment shocks, suited to off-road activity. It features a larger body and 35mm piston. That means more oil, less over-heating and less shock fade on long stretches of corrugated roads.
  • XTR Shock Absorbers – Perfect for heavy off-road activities and towing. It has a large shock body with a greater volume of oil and a 40mm piston. If travelling through the outback, due to the hot weather and bumpy roads, a 40mm piston and larger is recommended.
  • X-Treme Shock Absorbers – Heavy duty off-road and heavy duty towing. With mighty 45mm pistons.
  • MRP 2.5 – A fully adjustable shock absorber with a remote reservoir. This top of the range shock absorber can be optimised for the terrain your driving on. Say goodbye to a single setting that's a compromise between on and off-road. Set the MRP 2.5 for highway use for road driving. Then adjust it for off-road use when you hit the dirt.

EFS 4x4 Springs

EFS and their parent company Carrolls Suspension Solutions re experts in spring design, development and manufacturing. As such, EFS have a comprehensive range of coil springs, leaf springs and torsion bars to suit just about every 4x4 including

EFS manufacture coil springs using premium spring steel in compliance with international quality standard ISO-9002. The wide range of 4WD springs lets you choose the optimal spring for suspension flex and vehicle weight.

EFS leaf springs are made from high-quality Japanese grade SUP9 and SUP9A alloyed carbon spring steel. Spring are available for comfort or increased load carrying purposes. Tapered leaf ends reduce inter-leaf friction and improve pressure distribution. Bolt clip liners and leaf insert pads reduce friction. EFS springs are available in 30mm to 80mm raised heights.

Why might you need different springs on your 4x4?

You may want to set up your vehicle for off-road. In which case you’re likely to want a bit more ground clearance thanks to raised suspension. You’ll also want longer suspension travel for a bit more suspension flex, to keep your tyres from lifting. Then, it’s worth considering whether your 4x4 is carrying extra weight. Extras like bullbars and canopies weigh hundreds of kilos and necessitate a heavier spring than the factory-fitted ones.

If you’re planning a big trip, perhaps a the big lap of Australia, upgrade your suspension and tyres together, at Tyres & More store, that way you’re ensuring cross-compatibility, so they work together.

Raised suspension and lift kits for 4x4s.

Raised suspension on 4x4 vehicles offers increased ground clearance, allowing them to tackle rough terrain, obstacles, and off-road trails more effectively.

This added clearance helps prevent undercarriage damage and allows for traversing rocks, mud, and uneven surfaces with ease.

Raised suspension also improves approach and departure angles, enhancing the vehicle's off-road capabilities. Overall, raised suspension is an excellent upgrade for 4x4 vehicles to optimize their off-road performance and versatility.
